Hello, my name is Priyanka Shahi. After spending 16 challenging years abroad as a migrant—raising a family alone and struggling with mental health issues—I deeply understand the realities faced by many of our fellow Nepalese workers. Every year, thousands leave Nepal in search of better opportunities. Yet the journey is often dangerous: more than 1,000 Nepalese migrants die annually, and 12% of these deaths are due to suicide. Exploitation, emotional trauma, and severe isolation are common, while meaningful support is often inaccessible.
These painful realities fuel my commitment to Konektee Nepal.
At Konektee, we are working to change the often-overlooked narrative surrounding mental health in migration. We believe that no migrant should struggle alone. Our mission includes preparing migrants before departure—equipping them with the skills to manage mental health challenges, cultural transitions, and the emotional pressures of migration. Once abroad, our support continues through 24/7 counseling services, peer support networks, and a crisis hotline.
For migrants preparing to return home, Konektee provides tailored rehabilitation and career guidance. Our “Return Ready Program” focuses on mental health support, skill development, and community reintegration—ensuring that returning migrants come home with dignity, confidence, and the ability to rebuild their lives.
We are launching a comprehensive 4-week pilot program from January 2nd to June 30th, 2025, designed to empower 20 Nepalese migrants with the tools they need for a safe and dignified return. This program will include mental health counseling, employment support, and social reintegration services.
Your generous contribution of ₨493,400 (approximately USD 3,682) will fund essential counseling, skill-building workshops, and community reintegration activities—making it possible for these migrants not only to return home, but to thrive.
Every donation, no matter the size, creates a meaningful impact. Your support allows us to deliver life-changing services to migrants who need them most.
Join us in transforming lives by contributing to our campaign today. Together, we can ensure that Nepalese migrants return home not just to survive—but to flourish.
